An action advocate for 10 years, Avalon Jade empowers people of all ages to Conserve It Forward through Small Acts that create Big Change for our planet and ourselves.
Passionate about the environment from a peacemaking perspective, she leads a service lifestyle as a global speaker, collaborator, and founder of a non-profit organization. An 18-year-old senior at the University of South Florida preparing for graduate school, her academics are guided by her unique history, religious pluralism, and how better understanding of foundational beliefs improves our interconnection and collaboration for solving local and global challenges, such as environmental and food ethics.
A passionate changemaker who has dedicated her life to the service of people, animals, and planet, Avalon Jade was 7 years old when she first realized she could make positive, effective change. Her efforts resulted in the creation of a non-profit organization. Encouraging the use of kindness and compassion to confront global issues, she has traveled the world to share her message and work alongside others.
A member of the USF Honors College and Provost Scholars Program, Avalon Jade is pursuing a Religious Studies major, Environmental Policy minor, and Food Studies certificate. Her roles include being Miss University of South Florida, VP of Programming for Sigma Kappa, President of the Religious Studies Club, and an active member of 2 service-based organizations. Post-graduation plans include completing M.A. and Ph.D. programs that will best equip her for serving her community and inspiring the next generation of peacemakers. Her collegiate experience reflects the journey of service and academics she has been on since childhood.
To maintain balance and focus, Avalon practices mindfulness, meditation, and yoga. She is the current USA Yoga National Youth Champion and in December 2018, won the title of World Champion of Yoga Sports when she competed in Beijing, China.
